•Clinical Significance:-

•There are various causative factors for PCOD or PCOS.

•Imbalance and disturbances in various hormones such as Pituitary. The Gonadal Hormones, stress, improper diet, lack of exercise and sedentary lifestyle leading to obesity and diabetes, which ultimately result in the PCOS in women and young girls.

•The formulation of Tab Divpcos rightly overcomes the causative factors in PCOS in modern as well as Ayurveda perspective.

•Chandraprabha vati: Is a potent emonogogue. Also corrects & balances Hormonal imbalance. It has Anti-glycemic actions and is used for all the ailments of the uterine functions.

•Kukkutnakhi gugul: The contents of this kalpa as kukkutnakhi, Triphala, Kanchanar and Guggul are well known for the lekhan karma (i.e.scrapping off) of the Meda Granthi i.e. the Cyst. Also these contents breaks down the Hyperlipidemia and Obesity responsible for PCOS.

•Kuberaksha vati: The content like Rason, Sunthi, Hingu and Latakaranj are of Deepan-Pachan, Bhedan nature. This acts against the kapha medo dusti and Obesity consequently, The Granthi Bhedan i.e. break down of Cyst in PCOD is carried out with these properties of the combination.

Ulatkambal, Gajar beej and Kantakari are Uterine stimulants and felicitate menstruation. The Dysmenorrhea, Amenorrhea and  Oligomenorrhea are corrected with these in PCOS. Ashok with its astringent properties balances the flow of Menstruation in the irregular menses in PCOS. Apachi Nashan is a specific property of Ashok, which is therefore also useful to dissolve the mass of Cyst.

•Sajjikshar: 'Kharanat Ksharaha'. 

This property of Sajjikshar is useful in dissolving the Cysts.

•Shatapushpa: The Artav janan i.e. inducing menstruation property is useful for menses in PCOS. Also the Phyto elements in shatapushpa have similar properties as the function of Estrogen.

•Gorakhmundi: is Medhya Rasayan i.e.it provides Rejuvenation to the brain tissues. Hence it enhances the stimulation and balance of the Pituitary and Hypothalamus. Also it possesses the properties of Lekhan karma useful in the treatments of PCOD.

•Haridra: is a blood purifier. It has Anti-glycemic properties, also regulates Fat metabolism. It is rich Anti-Oxidant. 

•Gudmar: It posses Anti Obesity properties carrying out Fat metabolism so is useful to rule out one of the main causative factor of PCOD & PCOS with all the way against the various causative factors of the disease at a glance.
